In the early hours of Tuesday, Instagram is getting populated by entirely black posts featuring the #BlackOutTuesday hashtag while on Twitter, one of the trending hashtags currently is #USAonfire.
Clearly, a storm is not just brewing, it’s already here.

In lights of recent events following George Floyd’s death and the protests against the use of excessive force by law enforcement blazing through the U.S., yesterday PlayStation announced in a tweet that the June 4th event to showcase PS5games is postponed indefinitely.

To make things clear on where they are standing, they added: “And for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”

Same situation with Google who planned to launch Android 11’s public beta on June 3rd live stream, about a month later than it usually does each year due to the CoVid-19 crisis, but announced on Android’s website that “now is not the time to celebrate”.

EA Games has delayed a planned Madden NFL reveal in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. In a statement published on Sunday, EA said it would hold its NFL 21 reveal at a later date, “because this is bigger than a game.”
